Sentence of 10 Years Reduced to 4 Years
Following a conviction of second-degree robbery and lesser counts, the court sentenced Mr. Wright to a prison term of 10 years on the robbery count and lesser concurrent terms on the remaining counts. The Appellate Division determined that the 10-year sentence was unduly harsh or severe, considering the charged crime, Mr. Wright’s personal circumstances, and the purpose of a penal sanction. The sentence was reduced to 4 years.
