Post-Conviction Relief Practice Obtains Vacatur for Client
Appellate Advocates obtained post-conviction relief for a 70-year-old non-citizen grandfather who has lived in the United States for the past 37 years. The client, who had severe health problems, was in removal proceedings and facing deportation to Venezuela due to a 2008 misdemeanor conviction. Appellate Advocates was able to secure a vacatur of the misdemeanor. The client can now move to terminate his proceedings in Immigration Court and can remain in the United States with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
