Two Clients Granted Relief by Securing Immigration-safe Re-Pleas
Our client’s sole conviction barred him from becoming a lawful permanent resident, even though he had a visa available to him. After filing a 440 motion, an immigration-safe disposition was secured. This enabled our client to adjust his status, become a lawful permanent resident, and no longer be subject to deportation.
A second client, a permanent resident, had prior felony convictions with severe immigration consequences, including mandatory deportation and a permanent bar from naturalization. After filing a 440 motion, a new disposition was secured, protecting the client from deportation and allowing him to eventually pursue naturalization.
