Prior to becoming a Supervising Attorney, Anders Nelson co-founded and taught the Criminal Appeals Field Clinic in partnership with Cardozo School of Law, in which he instructed and supervised law students on the practice of appellate defense during an annual, semester-long seminar. He began his legal career as a staff attorney at Brooklyn Defender Services, where he handled a substantial case load of misdemeanor and felony offenses. Anders received his law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he participated in the Prison Law and Immigration Law clinics and interned at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Alameda County Public Defender. He also holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from New York University.
