Staff Attorney

Anna Boksenbaum is a Staff Attorney in the SORA Unit at Appellate Advocates. She was previously a Senior Staff Attorney at the Brooklyn Criminal Defense Practice at the Legal Aid Society, where she represented clients on both felony and misdemeanor matters. Before representing adults, she worked both as a juvenile defender and a law guardian at the Bronx Office of the Legal Aid Society Juvenile Rights Practice, representing children in Family Court. Anna graduated from the City University of New York Law School.  During law school she worked for Mayerson & Associates, a firm that represents children with disabilities in special education proceedings.  She also interned for the Honorable Judge Jack Weinstein in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of New York. Prior to Law School, Anna was a bartender, caseworker at Safe Horizons, and founder of a Non-Profit Arts organization that brought art programs into Domestic Violence Shelters.  She has a degree in Religious Studies and Creative Writing from Eugene Lang College.
