Lauren Katzman joined Appellate Advocates in 2022. She was previously a Senior Staff Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice of the Legal Aid Society representing indigent clients in criminal cases at the trial level. Prior to that, she worked as a Staff Attorney in Legal Aid’s Juvenile Rights Practice representing young people in both juvenile delinquency and child welfare cases in Family Court.
Lauren graduated from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, where she participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic. Before attending law school, she worked as a mitigation specialist on death penalty cases with the Center for Capital Assistance in San Francisco, California. She received a B.A. in Sociology from Oberlin College.
