Andie Markowitz received her Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with a concentration in community organizing. Prior to joining Appellate Advocates, Andie was a senior social worker in the Criminal Defense Practice at Brooklyn Defender Services where she worked on the Women’s Defense Project advocating for survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other extensive trauma. Andie was previously a psychotherapist at an outpatient group practice in Brooklyn working with children and adults. She also completed internships at Partnership for Parks and the Center for Anti-Violence Education. Andie is SIFI certified and holds a B.A. in French Literature from Hunter College.
