Maritza Medina Olazarán graduated from Fordham University School of Law where she was a member of the Urban Law Journal and authored the competition problem for the 39th Annual Metropolitan Mentor Moot Court Competition, an appellate advocacy competition for high school students across New York City. In addition to completing an internship with Appellate Advocates while in law school, Maritza interned with criminal defense practice groups of the Legal Aid Society and Brooklyn Defender Services.
Before law school, Maritza graduated from Columbia University where she earned a Master of Science in Social Work, concentrated in advanced clinical practice. She completed clinical social work and mitigation internships with the Federal Defenders of New York and the Legal Aid Society’s Homicide Defense Task Force.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
