Melissa S. Horlick has nearly 30 years of experience in handling criminal cases and has devoted the vast majority of her career to representing indigent defendants on appeal at Appellate Advocates. She also has substantial experience in handling fraud-based cases, motions to vacate judgment and sentence, and has previously managed every aspect of a criminal case including hearings, trials, arraignments, grand jury presentations, and investigations. Prior to her work with Appellate Advocates, Melissa clerked for the Honorable Barbara F. Newman of the Bronx Supreme Court, Criminal Term. She graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where she served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Moot Court Honor Society and she holds a B.A. from the George Washington University with Honors, having majored in Criminal Justice.
