Staff Attorney

Amy Swenson joined Appellate Advocates’ Domestic Violence Survivor’s Justice Act practice in 2022. She was previously a senior staff attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at the Legal Aid Society, where she represented indigent clients in felony and misdemeanor matters at the trial level. She also represented survivors of human trafficking as well as clients accused of violating the terms of their community supervision. Amy graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2008. While in law school, she interned at the Bronx Defenders and participated in the Legal Assistance for Minnesota Prisoners Clinic. Amy holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Minnesota.
