After receiving her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1986, Yvonne Shivers worked at the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Appeals Bureau and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division of the New York State Attorney General’s Office. She recently returned to Appellate Advocates, where she worked from 1998 until 2005, after ten years of litigating federal appeals, habeas petitions, and collateral motions in private practice.
