De Nice Powell, Director of Innocence Investigations, is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York University, and Northeastern University School of Law. After defending corporate defendants in civil matters, she joined The Legal Aid Society where she worked on criminal appeals for several years before joining the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. At the Neighborhood Defender Service, she represented indigent defendants in criminal matters. She joined Appellate Advocates in 1996.
