Maya graduated from Binghamton University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish and a B.S. in Human Development with a minor in Immigration Studies. She served as the captain of the women’s rugby team and worked as a peer consultant at the University’s career center. Before starting at Appellate Advocates, she interned at the New York County District Attorney’s Office in the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, the NYC Department of Education’s Administrative Trials Unit, and Sheffield Hallam University’s Refugee Rights Hub.
